The Real Club de Golf at El Penon in the north of the island is the second oldest golf club in Spain having opened in 1932. This is the only private golf club on the island and allows a limited number of visitors to grace it’s beautiful fairways and superb greens.
The course is located 600mts above sea level and the holes mainly play uphill until reaching the highest point, the13th tee, from where the views are stunning and the closing, downhill holes simply spectacular.
The course measures (Y)4951mts (W)5750mts for a Par of 71 but don’t think that makes it easy, this is a very challenging parkland course for all levels of golfer.
The 10th is SI1 and will take 3 good uphill shots to reach the tricky, tiered green.
The challenging Par 3 16th plays uphill to a sloping green, well protected by steep slopes on both sides.
